In this guide, we’ll explore different methods on how to turn off gaming mouse lights, allowing you to customize your gaming experience.

Gaming mice have become a staple for many gamers, offering precision, customization, and additional features to enhance the gaming experience.

One feature found in most gaming mice is the LED lighting, which adds a stylish and dynamic flair to your gaming setup, so if you love RGBs in your system then I am sure you are going to have a RGB mouse.

And yes this guide is aimed to help all mouse users so it will help you turn off your Razer mouse light, SteelSeries mouse light, Logitech mouse LED lights, and Havit mouse lights.

How To Turn Off Gaming Mouse Light?

Below are the different methods to give your gaming mouse no lights.

Check Manufacturer Software:

Most gaming mice come with dedicated software provided by the manufacturer.

This software allows users to customize various aspects of the mouse, including lighting effects. To turn off the lights, follow these general steps, below I will use a G203 Logitech mouse and disable it’s lights.

  • Open the gaming mouse software installed on your computer.
  • Navigate to the lighting or customization section.
  • Look for an option to disable or turn off the lights.
  • Apply the changes and save the settings.

This is the best way to turn off a gaming mouse RGB lights, unless it has a switch underneath the mouse.

Onboard Controls:

Some gaming mice have onboard controls or buttons that allow you to adjust settings without using software.

Refer to your mouse’s user manual to identify if your device has such controls and how to use them.

Commonly, you can find a button that cycles through lighting modes or turns the lights on and off directly, this button can be located on the bottom of the gaming mouse.

Windows Settings:

If your gaming mouse is recognized by the Windows operating system, you can explore system settings to manage its lighting, but this is kind of rare.

  • Open the “Settings” menu on your Windows computer.
  • Go to “Devices” and then “Mouse.”
  • Look for additional mouse settings or options related to lighting.
  • Disable any lighting effects or turn off the lights using the available options.

BIOS/UEFI Settings:

In some cases, the motherboard’s BIOS or UEFI settings may offer control over USB-connected devices, including gaming mice.

Restart your computer and access the BIOS/UEFI settings during the boot process (usually by pressing a specific key like Del or F2).

Look for USB settings or peripherals configuration, and check if there are options to disable LED lighting for connected devices.

Physical Switch (if applicable):

I know I have said this a few times but some gaming mice have a physical switch on the device itself to control the lighting. Check your mouse for any buttons, switches, or sliders that directly manage the lights.

The below picture is just an example of a gaming mouse with an off button switch, but in this case, it does not actually turn off the lights for the G305.

Final Thoughts:

Customizing your gaming experience extends beyond in-game settings, and managing your gaming mouse’s lighting is part of that personalization.

Whether you prefer a sleek and minimalistic look or need to conserve energy during late-night gaming sessions, these methods should help you turn off the lights on your gaming mouse.
