How to Search Your Blocked Websites

How to Search Your Blocked Websites

As your Blocker Web list grows, you can use the search box to quickly find a particular website without scrolling through every saved entry.

The search only filters what is displayed in the list. It does not remove, unblock, or change any websites.

Find a Website in Your Block List

To search your blocked websites:

  1. Open Blocker Web.
  2. Select Blocked Websites from the menu on the left.
  3. Click the Search blocked websites box above the list.
  4. Begin typing part of the website domain.

The list updates automatically as you type.

For example, entering:

face

would display a saved website such as:

facebook.com

Entering:

tube

could display:

youtube.com

You do not need to type the complete website address.

Is the Search Case-Sensitive?

No. The search is not case-sensitive.

Searching for:

FACEBOOK

will return the same result as:

facebook

This makes it easier to find websites without worrying about capital letters.

What Information Does the Search Check?

The search checks the website domain shown in the blocked website list.

It does not currently search information in the other columns, such as:

  • The date the website was added
  • The reason it was blocked

For the best results, enter part of the website name or domain.

Display All Blocked Websites Again

To remove the search filter:

  1. Click inside the search box.
  2. Delete the text you entered.

Once the search field is empty, the complete blocked website list will be displayed again.

When you move away from the empty search box, the Search blocked websites placeholder text may return automatically.

What If No Websites Are Displayed?

If the list becomes empty while searching, Blocker Web has not found a saved domain containing the text you entered.

Check that:

  • The website has already been added to the block list
  • The domain has been spelled correctly
  • You are searching for part of the domain rather than a reason or date
  • An old search has not been left in the search box

Clear the search field to make sure your full list is still available.

Does Searching Change the Blocking Status?

No. Searching only changes which rows are visible on the Blocked Websites page.

Websites hidden by the search filter remain in your saved block list and continue following the main website-blocking status.

For example, when website blocking is set to ON, a website remains blocked even if it is temporarily hidden from the list by a search.
