Change Timeout Time For OS Selection When Turning On Computer

If you have more than one operating system installed on your PC or Laptop then you will know that you have a certain amount of time (normally 30 seconds) to choose which operating system you would like to boot into. Otherwise, your computer will launch your default operating system.

So in this post, we will be showing you how to change the amount of time the list of operating systems is displayed. Because let’s face it, 30 seconds is kind of a long time and is frustrating if you have turned on your computer on quickly to come back and see that it’s still on the operating system choice list.

Windows 10 Changing The Time Operating System List is Displayed:

1. First, open the start menu and search “View Advanced System Settings” and open it

2. Once open now click the “Advanced” tab > Under System “Start-up and Recovery” click the “Settings” button

3. You will now see “Time to display list of operating systems” underneath “System start-up” > This box needs to be ticked.

4. Now in the box put the number of seconds you would like to have the operating list shown on your PC when you boot it up

That’s how you can change how long the list of the operating systems is shown when you turn on your computer using Windows 10. If you liked this post check out more of our Windows 10 posts here.
