Fix Apex Legends Mobile crashing not launching

In this guide, we have listed methods on how to fix issues with Apex Legends mobile crashing and not launching on Android. Apex legends has been around on PC and console for a long time now, and it has been a great free-to-play, first-person Battle Royale game.

The great news is that Apex Legends Mobile is now available to download, and we can install the game on our Android devices. However, it’s very frustrating if you are having issues with freezing and crashing issues in Apex Legends Mobile, on your Android phone or tablet.

I am excited that we get to play this fantastic game in the palms of our hands, being able to play the mobile version of the game while on the move! But if Apex Legends Mobile keeps crashing, freezing, and not loading on your Android device then this can be a problem. Not only does it soon make the game unenjoyable, but it also makes you want to remove the game from your phone and play it on your console or computer instead. That would be such a shame as it is great fun on Android!

What Causes Apex Legends Mobile crashes/not to launch?

There can be many reasons why you are having issues and Apex Legends Mobile won’t launch or load and giving you errors. It could be that your Android device has some updates pending, or perhaps you have something running in the background conflicting with the game.

Or there could be an issue with your connection, which can also cause the Apex Mobile “Update failed. Error code 154140714″ (see screenshot below).

The below methods are for resolving issues with Apex Legends Mobile freezing and not working on an android device. Hopefully, one of them will get the game working again for you so you can try and get that lovely Battle Royale win on your handheld device!

Fix 1: Restart your Android device

When was the last time you restarted your Android phone or tablet? If it has been a long time then give the device a restart as this can help resolve many issues.

Fix 2: Update android

Ensuring your android device is up to date and running the latest OS is important. And can help resolve issues with Apex Mobile not working as well as other issues:

  • On your Android open Settings
  • Select Software update
  • Now select Download and install
  • Your device will check if you are using the latest version. If a new version is available you will be given the option to install it

Fix 3: Update all apps in the Play Store

If you have apps with pending updates in the Google Play Store then this could be the root of the issue. It’s also important to ensure there is not an update pending for Apex Mobile in the Play Store:

  • Open the Play Store and once opened select your Profile icon
  • Now open Manage apps and device
  • Select Updates available and select Update all
Google Play Store checking for updates available

Fix 4: Close Down all background apps

If you have lots of apps running in the background like a web browser, social media, gallery, music player, etc, then these will be using resources that Apex legends Mobile needs to run. And also could conflict with the game causing it to crash and not launch.

Fix 5: Turn off the battery saver & fully charge

If you have your Android device in battery saver mode then you are restricting its power and performance, and this could cause problems. Also, if you are running low on battery recharge your device as having a low battery can make Apex Legends Mobile freeze and lag:

  • Expand the Quick Settings menu by pulling it down from the top of your Android display
  • Ensure the Battery icon is not highlighted in the menu and is greyed out (if you can’t see the icons ensure that you have pulled it fully down)
  • Check the percentage of your battery in the top right-hand corner

Fix 6: Use WiFi connection and not mobile data

If you are using a mobile connection then this could cause stability issues making the game crash or freeze. If you are able to use a WIFI connection and sit as close as you can to the Wifi point then this could really help:

  • To make sure you are using Wi-Fi pull down from the top of your device to access the Quick Settings menu (if you can’t see the icons ensure that you have pulled fully down)
  • Ensure the Wifi icon is highlighted
  • Make sure that the Mobile Data icon is greyed out (icon with up and down arrows)

Fix 7: Turn off flight mode

Flight mode will stop your internet connection and this will then cause issues with Apex Legends Mobile and give you connection and sign-in errors like 154140714. It is very easy to enable this accidentally:

  • Pull down fully from the top of your device to access the Quick Settings menu
  • Make sure that the Airplane icon is greyed out

Fix 8: Clear Apex Legends Mobile cache

Clearing the cache for the game can help fix crashing and freezing issues:

  • Go to your device Settings > Then Apps

  • Go to Settings > Apps
  • Select Apex Legends and then click on Uninstall
Android uninstall Apex Legends Mobile
