What Is a Steam ID?

Your Steam ID is basically a unique code that is associated with your account, that helps identify your account from other users.

It will be a combination of letters and numbers and is formatted in a few different ways.

Your Steam ID is important as you may need to use it to link to other services, play multiplayer games, and join certain clans or other communities. You can also share your Steam ID with others so that they can view your profile.

How to Find Your Unique ID in Steam

Finding your steam ID is very easy to do in Windows 10/11. And to find your steamID3 number then follow the steps below.

Open File Explorer

Go to the following path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata

It will usually be just a set of 9 digits. So for example you will see a folder like in the screenshot above, with your Steam ID that would be something like 987654321.

If you see more than one folder with different IDs, then you may have logged into more than one Steam account on your PC. So you will need to find out which one is yours.
