If you’re a fan of PC games, then the chances are that you’ve heard of and installed Steam on your Windows PC or laptop. The Steam Client is one of the many game launchers that we all know and love, to install and launch some of our favorite games.
The Steam Client is a platform developed by the Valve Corporation. Not only can you download and store your games in the Steam game library, but you can also purchase new games from the store.
But what exactly is your Steam ID and how do you find it? In this guide, we will be taking a look at how to find your Steam ID3.
What Is a Steam ID?
Your Steam ID is basically a unique code that is associated with your account, that helps identify your account from other users.
It will be a combination of letters and numbers and is formatted in a few different ways.
Your Steam ID is important as you may need to use it to link to other services, play multiplayer games, and join certain clans or other communities. You can also share your Steam ID with others so that they can view your profile.
How to Find Your Unique ID in Steam
Finding your steam ID is very easy to do in Windows 10/11. And to find your steamID3 number then follow the steps below.
Open File Explorer
Go to the following path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata
You will now see your ID3 number
It will usually be just a set of 9 digits. So for example you will see a folder like in the screenshot above, with your Steam ID that would be something like 987654321.
If you see more than one folder with different IDs, then you may have logged into more than one Steam account on your PC. So you will need to find out which one is yours.
Knowing how to find your SteamID can come in handy. Not only does it uniquely identify you, but may be needed when trying to join new gaming communities, or even if you want to trade items with players on Reddit or Discord for example.
Now that you know how easy it is to locate your IDs, take a look and have fun gaming! With so many games available on Steam, there’s literally something for everyone. Have fun!
