Format USB On Windows 10 PC Or Laptop

In this post, we will be showing you how you can format your USB stick or USB Drive in Windows 10.

Formatting your USB will remove everything that is currently on the USB device, so just make sure you have backed up any files or folders that you want to keep. Because as soon as you press that format button you will not be able to get any of the contents on the USB back. We have listed the steps below for formatting a USB.

Windows 10 How To Format USB Stick:

1. Open File Explorer

2. Plug in your USB drive

3. Right-click your USB then click “Format…

4. Now choose which file system, allocation unit size, and volume label you would like your USB to use

5. Once you are happy with the settings you can now click “Start” and Windows 10 will begin to format your USB

6. When the formatting has finished it will pop up with a window confirming this

There you have it that is how you format a USB drive in Windows 10 and your USB will now have all the free space, ready for you to fill back up!
