Fix Greyed Out Option!
This Windows 10 tutorial will show you how to enable the ‘show accent colour for start, taskbar and action centre’ on your PC or laptop.
Many people want to customise their Windows 10 PC and make their desktop look cool. One of the best ways to do this is to change the accent colour of your start menu, taskbar and action centre.
However, you may have encountered an issue and the option to change the colour is greyed out and unable to be selected. By following the steps in this tutorial you will be able to fix this issue and the option will no longer be greyed out on your Windows 10 PC.
To Enable Show Accent Colours:
1. Right click on an empty space on your desktop > Personalise
2. Select Colours tab (Left-hand menu) > Under ‘Choose your colour’ select drop-down menu and select Custom > Then make sure you have the following settings:
- Default Windows mode: Dark or Light
- Default app mode: Light
You will now notice the Start, Taskbar and Action Center is no longer greyed out and you can choose your colour.
If the above does not work then do the following:
1. Select the Themes tab (Left-hand menu) > Change the theme to ‘Windows’ (once you have done this see if you can now tick the Start, Taskbar and Action Center checkbox)
