In this guide, I will show you how to permanently disable speakers in Windows 10 and Windows 11 using Device Manager. If you don’t want sound coming out of your computer’s speakers anymore and don’t want to mute your speakers, then we can easily disable them.

When it comes to the audio in Windows we can make many changes. We can either change the volume, mute, or choose which speaker the sound comes out of (either left or right). And as I will be showing you in this guide, we can completely disable your computer’s audio device using Device Manager so no audio can be played at all.

When we disable the audio device this will mean that your speakers will no longer work until you enable your audio device again in Device Manager. Below I have listed the steps showing you how to do this.
