Disable Your Speakers & Audio In Windows 10

If you don’t want sound coming out of your computer anymore and don’t want to mute your speakers then in this Windows 10 post, we will be showing you how to disable your computer’s audio device using Device Manager.

This will mean that your speakers will no longer work until you enable your audio device again in Device Manager and below we have listed the steps showing you how to do this.

Disabling Speakers Sound In Device Manager:

1. Right-click the start menu and open “Device Manager

2. Expand “Sound, video and game controllers” and select your audio device

3. Now right-click your audio device and select “Disable device

There you have it you will now have a cross through the speaker icon in the system tray and you will no longer be able to hear any sound from your speakers that are using the audio device that you disabled.
