Fix 1: Restart the console

Fix 4: Reinstall the game

Try removing the game and then reinstalling it. Make sure to back up your save data before uninstalling Forbidden West:

  • Go to your PS5 Settings > Storage
  • Select Console Storage > Games and Apps
  • Select Horizon Forbidden West > Delete > OK

  • Press and hold power button and then release it after the second beep
  • Go to Option 5 “Clear Cache and Rebuild Database” from the Safe Mode

  • Press OK (this could take a few hours)

Fix 6: Factory reset PS5

This is the last option for troubleshooting the Horizon error on your PlayStation 5. This is basically a hard reset and will reset your PS5 back to factory settings and will wipe your data. So it is important to Back up any data you want to keep on the Cloud (PS Plus) or to a USB or external storage:

  • Go to Settings > System
  • System Software > Reset options
  • Select “Reset your console” > Reset
  • Go through the initial setup again
