Fortnite is an awesome game and is liked by a variety of all ages, especially Fortnite Battle Royale. The end goal is to beat 100 other players and win that Victory Royale, and this can be done in the game modes Solos, Duos, Trios, or Squads.
One of our favourite things about the Fortnite game is the split-screen feature. This is where you can sit back on your sofa and play the game with a friend on the same console. So if you want to know how to play Fortnite split screen on the PlayStation 5 then in this guide, we show you how to do just that. Let’s just hope that Fortnite doesn’t get stuck on the loading screen!
Has Fortnite Split Screen Always Been Available?
The split-screen feature was available in the previous chapter of the game however, if you installed Fortnite chapter 3 or updated to the latest chapter, then you may have noticed that the split-screen option was disabled. The great news is that we are now able to play local split-screen in Fortnite again, so follow the methods below on how to do this.
Can You Level Up When Playing Fortnite Split Screen?
If you enjoy playing split-screen with a friend but are wondering if you will still level up, then don’t panic because you absolutely can! You will still be able to gain XP to level up, and this can be done by completing quests alone or together, beating other players, and just doing awesome stuff in the game.
How To play local split screen in Fortnite Chapter 3:
Before you start make sure both of your PS5 controllers have batteries. As we know, they don’t always last forever but you can improve the battery life.
1. Turn on your PS5 and sign in to your user
2. Launch Fortnite and select Battle Royale
3. Once on the main screen turn on your second controller
4. Sign in to their user or use a Guest Account
5. Press and hold ∆ (triangle) to join the second player > It will now log in the second player and you will now see them in your lobby
6. Go ahead and choose Duos, Trios, or Squads and press ∆ to join into a game
