Printer Spooler Causing Issues In Windows 10

In this post, we will be taking a look at how you can disable the Printer Spooler in Windows 10 on your PC or laptop.

There are many reasons why you might want to disable the printer spooler. Perhaps you don’t have a printer and don’t plan on getting one, or maybe it’s causing a few issues with your system.

But just remember by disabling the Printer Spooler you will no longer be able to print from your PC or Laptop until you enable it again.

****Top Tip****
Disabling the Printer Spooler in Windows 10 is not too difficult to do. However, you will need to be signed in as an administrator to disable it

Disabling The Printer Spooler In Windows 10:

1. Open the Windows start menu and search “Services” and open it

2. Find “Printer Spooler” in the list > Right-click it and select Properties

3. Make sure the General tab is selected > Under “Startup type” change this to “Disabled” > Then click the “Apply” and “OK” button

Now when you restart Windows 10 the printer spooler will no longer be running and it will be disabled. But like we mentioned above you will no longer be able to print or see printers from that PC or Laptop, so if you want to be able to print again you just simply do the above steps but change the “Startup type” to Enabled.
