In this post, we will be taking a look at hopefully fixing the black or blank screen issue you are currently getting when trying to play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on your PC or laptop.

This issue can occur upon trying to launch CSGO, or it can happen when you are in the middle of a game.

How To Fix Blank & Black Screen Issue With CSGO:

1. Restart Windows 10 – It sounds simple but why make it complicated, this usually resolves most problems with CSGO

2. Install the latest Windows 10 updates:

  • Right-click the Windows start menu icon > Settings > Update & Security
  • Click “Check for updates” button

3. Update Graphics Card Drivers:

  • Download the drivers from the manufacturer’s website
  • Alternatively, check out these posts to see how to install them: NVIDIA, Intel
  • You can download and install AMD drivers from here

4. Run Counter Strike Global Offensive as an administrator:

  • Right-click on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in your Steam Library > Go to Properties
  • Click on Local Files and then “Browse
  • Right-click on the CSGO shortcut and click on Properties > Click on Compatibility and tick “Run this program as an administrator” box > Press Apply

5. If using PC try changing the cable you are using for your display

6. Scan CSGO for corrupted files and verify the integrity of the game files:

  • Open Steam and find Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in your Steam Library > Right-click on it and go to Properties
  • Select Local Files and click on “Verify integrity of game files

7. Reinstall CSGO on your PC or laptop:

  • Right-click on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in your Steam Library > Manage > Click on Uninstall > Then Install the game again
